GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide (glycine, histidine, and lysine) bound to a copper ion. It was first isolated from human plasma in 1973. Plasma levels are highest in young adulthood and decline substantially with age. It is one of the most extensively studied peptides in cosmetic dermatology.
